Natural moments photography

Today's featured find, is a Canadian photographer that I came across, as he was last year's winner of the international travel photographer of the year competition. His website is very interesting, with his diversity featuring, site includes prints, courses, books and a blog and bio. His landscape work is beautiful, especially around the Canadian rockies which is an area that I loved when I visited 9 years ago.

The following interview was also a good read, to see where his inspirations have come from.

I particularly like his thoughts on developing a style, something that I have been thinking about recently...should I specialise, should I explore more types of photography or go with my heart and landscape...what is my style? His thoughts are :-

"do not try to imitate another photographer, be true to your own voice and shoot the things that matter to you in a way that feels comfortable – from there a ’style’ will develop."

It has also raised the interesting idea of an on-line interactive course, for 6 weeks. His workshops look and sound brilliant I have to say, but given I am not likely to make it to Canada in the near future with other things on the horizon, I am tempted to try this on-line gig...I do spend a lot of time at the computer after all...
